EPC-UK 2021 Charity Golf Day

Thursday 9th September 2021

For the sixth year we will be returning to the McDonald Portal Hotel & Spa in Cheshire alongside staff, clients, colleagues and partners, in an effort to raise more funds than ever before.

The tournament will be played with teams of four. You can also choose to enter smaller numbers to make up a team with other participants.

The day will commence with coffee and sumptuous bacon rolls, followed by an 18 hole Texas Scramble competition, with both team and individual prizes. There will be a “nearest-the-pin” and a “longest drive” competition, rounded off with a chance to relax over a three-course dinner and presentation evening.

Don’t miss this excellent opportunity to enjoy 18 holes of golf on one of the finest courses in the North West of England. Join us to network and at the same time help raise money for charity.

Defibrillator access saves lives

EPC-UK has a long-standing commitment to helping schools and local communities access life-saving defibrillator equipment.

Our charitable efforts have the simple goal to prevent the deaths of people of all ages, who die suddenly from cardiac arrest across the UK each week. Using a defibrillator before an ambulance’s arrival can significantly increase the chances of a person’s survival, so we’d like to see the number of easily accessible defibrillators located across the country continue to grow.

Committed to care

Over the years, we’ve raised enough funds through our charitable activities to buy 21 defibrillators nationwide. To keep the momentum going, we’ll be returning to the McDonald Portal Hotel & Spa in Cheshire on Thursday 9th September 2021 for our good spirited fundraising event. For the sixth time, we’ll be joined by fellow staff, clients, colleagues and partners, all in an effort to raise even more funds to secure the installation of further equipment and help pay for valuable training sessions.

Whilst due to Covid-19 the event was put on hold last year, in 2019 we raised £2,500 in sponsorship money. This impressive sum was generated by our golfing teams and is an amount we’re hoping to exceed this year with a refreshed competition between familiar faces.

How will the Charity Golf Day help?

The British Heart Foundation informs us that heart and circulatory diseases cause around a quarter of all deaths in the UK, that’s more than 160,000 deaths each year – an average of 450 deaths each day or one every three minutes in the UK.

Having a defibrillator installed within a school or community premises, together with individuals who have hands-on knowledge of how to effectively use the equipment, has life-saving implications. We hope that by raising further funds in 2021, additional apparatus and training can be secured in more locations – everywhere across the country.

It is our goal here at EPC-UK to make as many communities as possible heart safe, and by competing in our annual golf day, friends and associates are benefiting this vital cause, whilst enjoying spirited, sporting camaraderie.
