We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been selected as finalists as part of this year’s National Institute of Quarrying Excellence Awards – prestigious accolades that celebrate the personal and professional excellence of people working in the mineral extractives sector.

In the running for not one, but two awards, we’ll be attending the presentation’s grand final at Hillhead 2020 in June, where the winners of our nominated categories of ‘Best Initiative to Engage the Workforce’ and ‘Most Effective Health and Safety Leadership’ will be announced.

Our ‘Best Initiative’ finalist place acknowledges the proven capabilities we’ve demonstrated in operating as a health and safety advocate; successfully encouraging employees’ physical and mental well-being through the company’s devised, ‘Commit to be Fit’ initiative.

The second award nomination has been received by our own Managing Director, Ben Williams, who, having played an instrumental part in improving health and safety within EPC-UK, the wider EPC Groupe and the UK quarrying industry, has been recognised as a finalist for the ‘Most Effective Health and Safety Leadership’ award.

Both shortlisted submissions confirm the value and results we’ve achieved in supporting and guiding employees regarding their safety, well-being, and physical and mental health.

Commenting on the achievement, Ben Williams said: “Ensuring our employees feel valued and safeguarded is essential to our company’s operating ethos. As individuals and as teams, we strive to go the extra mile in creating and implementing initiatives designed to contribute to a safer and healthier working environment for all.

“It’s fantastic to learn that in placing us as finalists, the IQ Excellence judging panel has recognised our health, safety and well-being led culture and the successes our working philosophies have helped to achieved. We’re looking forward to the award ceremony final at Hillhead in June and wish all those attending the very best of luck.”
