As we begin 2024 EPC-UK is delighted to report that, due to last year’s exceptional fundraising success, we’ve already secured the donation of five further sets of lifesaving defibrillation equipment, planned for installation within community sports facilities nationwide.
People to deliver
We’re extremely proud of this achievement, as the EPC-UK defibrillator programme is a homegrown company cause that has flourished over recent years. It has enabled a total of 36 defibrillators to be donated to not-for-profit organisations that have lacked the funds to purchase their own.
Charity Golf Day 2024!
Each year most of the defibrillator money we raise is generated through our industry renowned Charity Golf Day, which celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2024 and will take place at a new location, the prestigious Wychwood Park in Crewe. We’re excited to bring our good SPIRITED play and sense of camaraderie to this topflight championship course on Thursday 5th September, and are now reserving places for teams and individual players.
A passionate partnership
Also essential to our donation success has been the supply and training relationship we’ve developed with Defib4Life. With experience in the field, Defib4Life works closely with Ambulance Services to ensure the defibrillator devices we secure are correct for purpose and are supplied by an expert team that can install and maintain the machines too.
This month we’ve announced defibrillator donations to five organisations. These have been nominated to receive equipment either by our own employees or participants from last year’s Charity Golf Day event:
Kent: Vinters FC – Vinters Football Club is FA 1 Star England Accredited, with 30 teams ranging from the Development Squad and U7s to Adult and Veteran.
Lincolnshire: Heckington J.F.C – a grassroots football team that plays in the Lincolnshire Co-op Mid Lincs County Youth Football League Under 14s.
Merseyside: Upton FC – a multi age, gender equal football club situated on the Wirral in Merseyside. The club has 210 players and 38 volunteer staff and is affiliated to Cheshire FA.
Nottinghamshire: Retford Gymnastics Club — a not-for-profit club and registered charity providing recreational and competitive gymnastics activities for anyone from children walking to adults. The club is for people of all ages and levels and supports individuals with disabilities.
South Wales: Talbot Green FC – a football club with ages ranging from U6 up to seniors. 160 children are registered at the club, with 32 coaches and 16 teams playing on game days.
Every one of these organisations is worthy of our support, with club affiliates from each having their own stories to tell about how valued our donations will be – making their organisations Heart Safe Places for all.
Over the next few months Onsite will share details of each donation in turn and find out more about the clubs and people who will benefit by having the equipment on site.
“EPC-UK is a company that delivers on its SPIRIT values of Safety, Passion, Integrity, Respect, Innovation and Teamwork, an ethos that fits entirely with our goal of making more community spaces Heart Safe Places,” Head of Human Resources, Julie Wootton says. “This passion to make a difference is combined with the personal connection our Managing Director, Ben Williams has with raising defibrillation awareness across our industry and the communities we work within.
“Starting the year with the fantastic news that we can improve sporting facility safety in five different geographical locations is inspirational. It will create a perfect sense of encouragement to raise more money than ever as we go ‘above and beyond’ at our highly anticipated, 2024 golfing event.”
