EPC-UK and Stand Out Socks are a perfect pairing on Employee Appreciation Day

Mar 1, 2024

Friday 1st March is Employee Appreciation Day, and at EPC-UK we want our teams to feel valued from head ‘to toe’ with a special gift, sent in the post, from Stand Out Socks.

Our employees will arrive home to a parcel sent to say thank you for making the EPC-UK magic happen. Each package contains a treat for their feet from the vibrant and audacious sock company, Stand Out Socks: Where Every Step is a Step Towards Inclusion.

Why Stand Out Socks?

Warrington Brothers Christian and Ross Laing set up Stand Out Socks to raise awareness of Down Syndrome, disability inclusion, and to contribute to creating job opportunities for those with learning disabilities.

After a successful pitch on Dragons’ Den, they secured investment from business entrepreneurs Peter Jones and Stephen Bartlett. Our own Head of Human Resources, Julie Wootton, was watching the episode and thought that asking Stand Out Socks to support her in showing a token of appreciation for the EPC-UK teams would be a great idea. She arranged for each of our employees to receive through the post one of three different sock designs in male or female fittings, along with a message of value and thanks.

“I’m delighted to have brought Stand Out Socks on board this year to help us show some extra appreciation to our fantastic teams,” Julie says. “The company, inspired by its co-founder Ross, not only produces a vibrant, quality product but is a voice for increasing awareness of Down Syndrome and fostering inclusivity for people with learning disabilities.

“At EPC-UK we are always looking for positive ways to demonstrate our commitment to environmental, social and governance values. This one has been an absolute pleasure and I’d like to thank Ross and everyone at Stand Out Socks for the difference they are making, and the terrific socks too!”
