2011 Best Practice Seminar

Nearly 150 people attended EPC-Groupe Best Practice Seminars run at 4 locations across the UK during April and May. The Seminars were endorsed by IOQ and attendance counted towards attendees individual Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

EPC presentations during the day included the safety of explosives in transport, effects of explosives in free air, QNJAC Toolbox Talk, blast design best practice and, at the request of previous year attendees, the correct use of seismographic equipment. The seminars were supported by representatives from HSE, who presented an update on current issues in Quarrying, and from MPQC, who outlined the new routes to qualification for Shot Firers, Explosive Supervisors etc.
